Phone Consultation

The connection between you and your therapist is a vital part of your healing journey, and finding someone you feel at ease with is very important. If you’re interested in exploring therapy, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me by email at stephanie@sclarklicsw.com. I usually respond Monday through Thursday.

During our initial phone consultation, which typically takes about 10-15 minutes, we can discuss your current concerns. If it seems like I might be a good fit for your needs, we’ll go ahead and schedule a first telehealth session lasting 55 minutes.

Preparing for your First Appointment

After we complete our consultation call and agree to move forward together. I will add you to my practice through the Alma portal. At this time you will receive an intake questionnaire, informed consent, practice policies, and invitation to upload your insurance. It is Alma’s policy for each client to consent to autopay. Please let me know if you have any questions about any of these policies.

First Appointment

This 55-minute session is an opportunity for us to get to know each other better and to understand your concerns and goals. Together, we’ll explore whether continuing with future sessions feels right for you. I offer appointments starting at 11:00 am and as late as 6:00 pm to fit your schedule. If, after our first meeting, either of us feels that working together isn’t the best fit, I will gladly help you find other therapists who might better meet your needs. 

Discussing Insurance & Fees

Please refer to the Insurance & Fees tab on this site to check that I take your insurance. If I do not currently accept your insurance please note the sliding scale section on that page. In preparation for that conversation, I invite you to refer to the Green Bottle Method. This will support us in finding a point on the scale that is appropriate.
